About this place
Tsinandali Estate is located approximately nine kilometres from Telavi. It was the residence of Prince Alexandre Chavchavadze, an important Georgian poet, military figure and cultural reformer.
The estate includes a house museum containing family objects, manuscripts and historic furnishings. It is surrounded by an extensive landscaped garden featuring plants imported from different parts of the world.
Tsinandali also played an important role in the modern development of Georgian wine. Its historic cellar is associated with the introduction of European-style bottling and ageing methods alongside Georgia’s traditional wine culture.
