About Ali and Nino Statue

Ali and Nino is Batumi’s best-known contemporary sculpture. Created by Georgian artist Tamar Kvesitadze, the two metal figures move toward each other, briefly merge and then separate again. The artwork was inspired by the novel Ali and Nino, a tragic love story involving characters from different cultural and religious backgrounds. Located beside Miracle Park and the Black Sea, the sculpture is especially impressive around sunset and after dark.
