About Martvili Canyon
Martvili Canyon is one of western Georgia’s most popular natural attractions. The canyon was formed by the Abasha River and is known for its turquoise water, moss-covered limestone cliffs, small waterfalls and dense vegetation.
The official visitor route begins in Inchkhuri village and follows a roughly 700-metre paved circular trail. Along the way, visitors cross bridges, walk along the historic Dadiani path and stop at several viewing platforms overlooking the gorge.
When weather and water conditions are suitable, a short boat trip is available along a 300-metre section of the river. Boat trips may be suspended during rain, snow or unsafe river conditions. Swimming and fishing are prohibited within the protected visitor area.
