About Memorial of Georgian Warrior Heroes
The Memorial of Georgian Warrior Heroes is located at the foot of the hill beneath Gori Fortress. The composition consists of eight monumental bronze figures representing wounded medieval Georgian warriors. The seated figures, damaged shields and expressive poses create a powerful image of sacrifice, courage and remembrance. The sculptures were created by Georgian sculptor Giorgi Ochiauri and were moved to their current location in Gori in 2009. The memorial can easily be visited before or after climbing to the fortress.
