About this route
This six-day tour introduces travellers to several of Georgia’s most important historical and cultural destinations. The journey begins in Tbilisi with visits to the Bridge of Peace, Rike Park, the Mother of Georgia and the sulfur-bath district of Abanotubani.
The route continues to Mtskheta, Georgia’s ancient capital, where guests visit Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. In Gori, the programme includes the Stalin Museum, Stalin’s childhood house and his personal railway carriage, followed by a visit to the ancient rock-hewn settlement of Uplistsikhe.
Guests then travel to Borjomi to explore the central park and taste the famous mineral water. The following day includes the forest-surrounded Green Monastery, Rabati Castle in Akhaltsikhe and a photo stop at Khertvisi Fortress. The tour concludes with an in-depth visit to Vardzia, a remarkable medieval cave complex containing tunnels, chapels, living quarters, wine cellars and historic frescoes, before returning to Tbilisi.
