About Joseph Stalin Museum
The Joseph Stalin Museum is one of Gori’s most visited landmarks. Its main exhibition building contains photographs, documents, gifts, personal belongings and historical materials connected with Stalin’s life and rule. The museum offers insight into an influential but deeply controversial period of 20th-century history. The wider complex also includes the small house where Stalin was born and a railway carriage that he used for important international journeys. The museum was established in 1937, while the current main exhibition building was completed later.
