Freedom Square is one of Tbilisi’s principal public spaces and a convenient starting point for exploring the city centre. At its centre stands a tall column crowned by a golden statue of Saint George. Rustaveli Avenue begins nearby, while the streets leading toward Sololaki and Old Tbilisi provide access to historic neighbourhoods, restaurants and cultural attractions.
