About this place
Meidan Square is one of the main meeting points in Old Tbilisi. The square is surrounded by traditional buildings, restaurants, wine shops and streets leading toward Abanotubani, Shardeni Street, Metekhi Bridge and Narikala Fortress. Historically, this area was an important commercial centre where merchants and travellers from different cultures gathered. Today it is a convenient starting point for exploring Tbilisi’s historic district.
