About this place

About Bebris Tsikhe Fortress

Bebris Tsikhe is a ruined fortress located on a hill at the northern entrance of Mtskheta. Its strategic position allowed it to control the road and protect the ancient city from approaching forces. Although much of the fortress survives only as ruins, visitors can still see sections of defensive walls and towers. The elevated location also provides views over the surrounding valley and offers a quieter historical stop beyond Mtskheta’s main religious monuments.
