Stepantsminda is the administrative and tourism centre of the Kazbegi region. The town lies in the Tergi River Valley and is surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. It offers hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, small shops and access to the region’s main attractions. Stepantsminda is the natural starting point for visits to Gergeti Trinity Church, Dariali Gorge, Gveleti Waterfall, Sno, Juta and Truso Valley. On clear days, several parts of the town offer excellent views of Mount Kazbegi.
