About Queen Tamar Statue

The Queen Tamar Statue is a four-metre-high bronze monument installed in Mestia in 2011. Queen Tamar ruled Georgia during the late 12th and early 13th centuries, a period widely regarded as the country’s Golden Age.

The monument depicts the queen on horseback and has become a familiar symbol of modern Mestia. It can easily be included in a short city walk or transfer through the town centre.
